March 6, 2018 Exclusive: Jordyn Jones Spills About a Brat Tour & All Things ‘Overnights’

Jordyn Jones is opening up about Brat’s brand new “Chicken Girls” spinoff “Overnights,” which she stars in alongside Brenna D’Amico, Daniel Skye and more of your fave stars.

She spilled to us about what to expect this season, the new music you’re going to be obsessed with and the possibility of a Brat tour in the future! Check it out.

TigerBeat: Tell us all about your mysterious new character, Mack.
Jordyn: Mack is a little party girl back home who gets sent away to live with her Aunt Georgia in Attaway because she needs to change her attitude, get her stuff together and get out of drama. On the first day of school, she makes eye contact with this boy, Danny, played by Daniel Skye, and she can already sense some flirtation there. He actually invites her to his band’s show that night. She goes, and everyone is booing them, so he gets the idea to invite her on stage to sing.

There’s a lot of tension with the other band mates because they only know her as the girl that just came to school, and they can tell that Danny likes her. It’s whole love triangle.

TigerBeat: How would you describe Mack in three words?
Jordyn: I would say a leader, flirty and popular.

TigerBeat: What do you love most about playing her?
Jordyn: I love playing her because she’s so much like me. I’m not a party girl, but I like to sing, I like to perform, I like to be a part of the group and I like to be a leader of the group.

TigerBeat: You have some awesome co-stars, like Brenna D’Amico and Daniel Skye. What was it like working with them?
Jordyn: Brenna is from “Descendants,” and I love Disney Channel. She’s such a talented actor, so I learned a lot from her on the set. I’ve known Daniel for a couple of years. I’s really fun to work with your friends and meet new people at the same time.

TigerBeat: Did you have any running jokes or pranks going on during filming?
Jordyn: We would play basketball a lot during our breaks, especially me and Mekai Curtis. Wherever we went, there was somehow a hoop and a basketball. We had a group chat, so we would always text funny stuff in that. We would also always practice our lines together and have competitions to see who could say them without messing up first.

TigerBeat: Tell us a little bit about the music we’re going to hear this season!
Jordyn: There are five original songs, one for each episode, and different people sing different ones. I especially like that they’re all original songs made for the show, and they’re putting all the songs on Spotify and Apple Music so everyone can stream them there.

Each song has a little bit of a rock vibe, but also still pop, so it’s super fun to sing them and get out of my comfort zone.

TigerBeat: Would you be open to going on a Brat tour and performing the songs in real life?
Jordyn: Of course! Overnights, our band, had even talked about becoming a band in real life. We tossed the idea around, because people seem to like the band and like the music. If we got the chance to go on tour, we would definitely take it. I really like giving people what they want to see and what they want to hear- whatever will make people happy.

TigerBeat: Can you tease a little bit about what’s coming up this season on “Overnights”?
Jordyn: Expect a lot of different performances. We’re going to have different people on our show that are coming in and trying to make our band better and tell us what we need and what we don’t need. Also, we’re all preparing for our SATs, so there’s a lot of stress, studying and getting in trouble as we try to balance our band and our schoolwork at the same time, like everyone in L.A.!

TigerBeat: What do you hope people will learn from watching the series?
Jordyn: My character definitely takes on challenges and takes risks. She takes every opportunity for good. When she finds out she’s getting sent away, she doesn’t choose to say “woe is me,” stay inside and not meet new people at the school. If she was shy, she wouldn’t have gotten the opportunity to be in the band. She took that risk. That’s pretty much my personality, too.

I want people to not be afraid of talking to new people or going to new places, because you never know what one night can turn into. Anything can happen “Overnight”!

You can catch Jordyn on “Overnights” Fridays on Brat’s YouTube channel!
