The 2018 Oscars will be held on Sunday, and Gossip Cop has a live stream of the star-studded event. Watch the feed below!
For the second year in a row, Jimmy Kimmel is hosting the Academy Awards at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood. When the announcement was made last May that he’d be back as the emcee, the late night host said of the exciting gig, “Hosting the Oscars was a highlight of my career. It’s not often you get two chances to have a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and even more rare to be handed the keys to a party 90 years in the making.”
As Gossip Cop reported, the nominations for this year’s Oscars were unveiled in January. The Shape of Water led the pack with an impressive 13 nominations, including Best Picture, one of the evening’s biggest awards. Following closely behind was Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk with eight nods. Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, one of this season’s most talked-about movies, is up for seven awards.
Among those slated to present at this year’s ceremony are Emily Blunt, Dave Chappelle, Ansel Elgort, Jane Fonda, Jodie Foster, Ashley Judd, Matthew McConaughey, Gal Gadot, Helen Mirren, Sandra Bullock and Lupita Nyong’o. They will be joined by Chadwick Boseman, Kelly Marie Tran, Kumail Nanjiani, Nicole Kidman and Christopher Walken, among others. Perhaps most notably, Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway will be making a return appearance after last year’s Best Picture snafu.
In addition, the artists representing this year’s Best Original Song nominees will be performing on the Academy Awards stage, including Mary J. Blige (Mudbound), Keala Settle (The Greatest Showman), Miguel, Gael García Bernal and Natalia Lafourcade (Coco), Common and Andra Day (Marshall), and Sufjan Stevens (Call Me By Your Name). And, as always, there will be an In Memoriam segment paying tribute to those lost over the last year. In addition, the ceremony is expected to recognize the #TimesUp movement in some way.
Who will earn a place in movie history? The milestone 90th Academy Awards is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. Eastern, following the red carpet pre-show. Stay tuned for the live stream!
