Chrissy Teigen is ready to fight her demons.

The model, who is expecting a baby boy with husband John Legend, recently opened up about past struggles with postpartum depression. Though she’s since sought help following the birth of her now-22-month-old daughter, Luna, the 32-year-old mom told pal Jen Atkin she’s afraid the condition will come back again when she gives birth to her second child.

“Do I worry about it with this little boy? I do. But I also know that when it does happen—if it does—I’m so ready for it,” she during a panel at the Create & Cultivate Conference in Los Angeles. “I have the perfect people around me for it. That’s why I stand for a real core group of people around me.”

Describing the impact of PPD as “coming down from any drug,” the Lip Sync Battle host admitted she didn’t realize she was suffering from depression until she was in a very dark place.

“I had just had Luna. I knew I had an incredible life and husband and family and all the resources necessary,” she recalled. “I knew that I was personally unhappy, but I didn’t think that anything was wrong with it because I just assumed that that’s the way it goes. You have a kid, you’re sad, you lose those endorphins and that’s the way it is.”

She continued, “I do wish, if anything, that more people had spoken up around me. I encourage anyone who sees something around them to point it out. It took me to finally sit myself down because I think it’s hard for people to point something out.”

According to an essay she penned for Glamour, things began looking up with Chrissy came to terms with her symptoms and started taking medication for her disorder.

“I started taking an antidepressant, which helped. And I started sharing the news with friends and family—I felt like everyone deserved an explanation, and I didn’t know how else to say it other than the only way I know: just saying it. It got easier and easier to say it aloud every time,” she wrote. “I love John and Luna more than I can imagine loving anything, and John and I still hope to give Luna a few siblings. Postpartum hasn’t changed that.”
