Yara Shahidi is speaking up in a major way in celebration of Black History Month!
The 18-year-old “Grown-ish” star shared a new video about what it means to be a black girl, honoring the amazing women who have come before her.
“I’m inspired by the trail set before us by generations of powerful and empowered women,” she says in the clip. “Our lineage teaches us that we are integral even when society dismisses us.”
