Charlie Puth recently opened up about a past relationship with Selena Gomez that “messed him up,” but it turns out Sel doesn’t really see the situation the same way.
In fact, a source close to Selena told People the “We Don’t Talk Anymore” duet partners “never dated.”
The rumors about the pair dating started back in 2016 when they released their hit collab, but they didn’t confirm anything at the time. Now, though, Charlie looks back on their relationship as “very short-lived” and “very impactful,” and has dropped hints that Sel’s ex Justin Bieber may have played a role in it ending. (Since then, #Jelena has reunited.)
