Justin Bieber’s Latin Grammy Was Mailed to the Wrong Person
January 31, 2018Justin Bieber won a Latin Grammy back in November for his remix of “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee. The Canadian singer wasn’t there to accept his award, so it was meant to be shipped to him, but it accidentally ended up in the wrong mailbox.
Producer Carlos Escalona Cruz, who works with salsa superstar Marc Anthony, revealed that he received Bieber’s statuette via mail. Escalona Cruz produced the album “Marc Anthony for Babies”, which won a Latin Grammy, but in another category. The producer shared the funny mistake on Instagram by posing with the trophy emblazoned with Bieber’s name and the category in which he won: “Best Urban Fusion/Performance 2017.”
“This is the funniest way to start #2018,” wrote Escalona Cruz. “I was expecting a #Grammy for @marcanthony for babies and I received @justinbieber Grammy for #despacito remix with @luisfonsi and @daddyyankee instead.”
