It’s not all about money!
Charlie Puth has an important message to young aspiring artists! The “How Long” singer took to Twitter to remind producers and songwriters that the most important thing to keep in mind is that music must be personal, from the heart and expressive. We’re loving this inspirational message!
And we’re not the only ones! Jake Miller — who recently self-produced his entire album out of a makeshift at-home recording studio — retweeted Charlie’s advice. Check out his encouraging tweets:
To all the young producer songwriters out there. You don’t need a $500 an hour studio to make a special record. Cherish the day, go home tonight, play some chords, sing, rap, whatever on top of it, put some drums on it if you want, and share the beautiful colors of you.

The song doesn’t have to be perfect. It just needs to be personal. Sharing music with the world is like printing out lottery tickets for free. One day, you might win…
