Casey Affleck Unable to Sexually Harass the Best Actress Nominees This Year

Here are this year’s best actress nominees at the 2018 Oscars:

One of these women will walk up the stage at this year’s Oscars, accept their trophy and secretly be relieved that Casey Affleck, alleged sexual harasser, didn’t hand it to them. Awkward!

That’s because Affleck, last year’s best actor winner, decided today that he “did not want to become a distraction from the focus that should be on the performances of the actresses in the category.” In other words, stop asking me about those old sexual harassment rumors!

Rumors such as the time he asked a crew member to take off his pants and show his penis to Amanda White, the producer of his I’m Still Here documentary.

Other allegations from White:

She also alleged that Affleck attempted to manipulate her into sharing a hotel room with him. When she resisted, White claimed, he grabbed her threateningly and attempted to scare her into submission. Affleck then allegedly proceeded to send White abusive text messages, calling her “profane names” for refusing to stay with him.

Affleck also called women “cows.” Psssh, locker room talk, what’s the big deal? So, we’re not calling women cows now??

Another producer, Magdalena Gorka, alleged that Affleck asked her to have sex with the camera assistant, Affleck’s friend. Also, she woke up and found Affleck lying next to her only in a T-shirt and underwear. To this, Amanda White said #MeTOO!! Nah, she didn’t say that. Gorka alleged:

…the actor was “curled up next to her in the bed wearing only his underwear and a T-shirt. He had his arm around her, was caressing her back, his face was within inches of hers and his breath reeked of alcohol.”

Anyway, The Daily Beast article on Affleck’s sexual harassment and abuse is very lengthy and quite the read. It’ll remind you of the Golden Era in Hollywood when there was no such thing as #MeToo or #TimesUp. A time when you could just focus on making movies and wake up uninvited and nearly naked next to your movie’s principals, and they’d keep their mouths shut.
