One of this week’s tabloids claims Keanu Reeves is no longer “morose” now that he’s supposedly dating Halle Berry. The article is completely bogus. As Gossip Cop has already noted, the stars aren’t a couple. The notion that Reeves is depressed isn’t true either.
Last week, Gossip Cop busted Life & Style for falsely claiming that Reeves and Berry were dating after developing a romance on the set of John Wick: Chapter 3. However, Berry had only spent one day on the set of the movie at the time that the article was published. It’s obviously unlikely the pair sparked a love affair over the course of one workday, during which they would have spent the majority of the time shooting scenes. Regardless, a source close to Berry told us on the condition of anonymity that she and Reeves aren’t an item.
Unfortunately, Woman’s Day is spreading the phony narrative while sprinkling in a few false details of its own. The unreliable magazine alleges that Reeves is typically an unhappy person, but he’s “a changed man” now that he’s in a relationship with his co-star. A so-called “insider” tells the tabloid, “They make a really sweet couple. He’s got a permanent smile on his face and it’s obvious that he and Halle think the world of each other.”
The questionable source adds, “Keanu can be quite morose, but Halle has definitely made him feel good about himself again.” This idea that Reeves isn’t happy is possibly based on a 2010 a paparazzi shot of the actor looking glum while eating a sandwich on a park bench. The Internet went wild making memes out of the image, which came to be known as “Sad Keanu.”
However, Reeves later laughed about the “Sad Keanu” memes in an interview with Vulture. When told about how the Internet was photoshopping the image in humorous ways, the actor said, “That’s so funny. So they like take paparazzi pictures and re-contextualize them? Funny.” He added, “Well, it sounds like harmless, good clean fun.” Simply put, one random paparazzi image and an Internet trend doesn’t indicate the actor is actually depressed.
As opposed to there being evidence to suggest the actor is “morose,” a YouTube user recently uploaded a video compilation titled “Keanu Reeves Funny Moments,” which features the upbeat actor goofing around on various talk shows. Irrespective of the actor’s mood, there’s no truth to the main theme of the outlet’s story, since he’s not dating Berry.
