A tabloid story published this time last year wrongly claimed Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were having a “trial separation.” Gossip Cop busted the article when it first emerged 365 days ago. Time has proven the report was completely untrue.
On June 1, 2017, Life & Style alleged Kardashian and West had gone through a six-week “trial separation” because their marriage was falling apart. An alleged “source” told the publication that West “wanted a break from Kim and his life with her.” The magazine’s unnamed insider went on to say the reality star also began “trying to make a new life for herself” during the so-called “trial” period. The supposed tipster added, “They’re on different paths, and don’t connect anymore. [Their friends are] worried the split would become permanent.”
The magazine provided very few details to explain the specific issues in their relationship. As Gossip Cop pointed out at the time, Life & Style never mentioned the names of any of those “friends” who were supposedly afraid that West and Kardashian were breaking up. On the other hand, the reality star’s spokesperson told us on the record that the article was completely “false.” Now that it’s abundantly clear the couple hasn’t separated, it’s safe to say Kardashian’s spokesperson has more insight into her marriage than anonymous and untraceable “sources.”
As opposed to going their separate ways, Kardashian and West celebrated their four-year wedding anniversary last month. “4 years down and forever to go,” Kardashian shared on Instagram, alongside a never-before-seen photo from their 2014 wedding in Florence, Italy. She added, “Thank you babe for giving me our family and caring so much about us. Thank you for inspiring me on a daily, I’m so lucky. I can’t wait for forever… Happy Anniversary.” Meanwhile, West gushed about his wife on Twitter in honor of their anniversary, writing, “gratitude and happiness best describe what my wife means to me. I’m deeply grateful and purely happy.”
Here’s what really happened. West traveled to Wyoming in May 2017 to work on a new album. The tabloid likely saw the rapper’s time away from home as an opportunity to allege he walked out on his wife, but his excursion was for professional purposes. When the rapper went back to Wyoming last month to continue working on his new music, Kardashian visited West along with their kids on several occasions.
In the 12 months since Life & Style wrongly reported they were living separate lives, West has been spending a lot of time with his wife, not to mention asserting his love for her on social media. It’s clear the spouses have remained very close and happy together. Once again, time has disproven a bogus tabloid story.
