Caitlyn Jenner won’t be attending her son Brody’s wedding, but it’s not because her so-called “lover” banned her from doing so, despite a false report. Gossip Cop can debunk this claim. It’s inaccurate on a number of levels.
As Gossip Cop reported earlier this week, work commitments are preventing Jenner from traveling to Bali for her son’s upcoming wedding. RadarOnline, however, has decided to come up with a phony reason for why the reality star won’t be attending the nuptials. The unreliable blog says she wants to go, but her “girlfriend” Sophia Hutchins, a 21-year-old transgender model, won’t allow it.
“Brody’s wedding date and all the traveling screws up things that Cait already has planned with Sophia,” a supposed source tells the website. “Sophia wasn’t up for all the wedding extravaganza and because she wasn’t, neither was Cait.” Instead of attending her son’s ceremony, the outlet alleges that Jenner will be going on “excursions” and “lavish shopping sprees” with Hutchins.
Both aspects of the blog’s story are completely untrue. For starters, Jenner and Hutchins aren’t a couple. The former Olympian’s own rep has told us on the record several times that the two are just “friends and business associates.” Meanwhile, Jenner’s spokesperson told us earlier this week that she can’t make the wedding “due to a variety of work commitments.” “Entertainment Tonight” and “Access Hollywood,” two trusted entertainment news shows, reported this as well.
People, a much more reliable outlet than RadarOnline, also confirmed the reason Jenner isn’t attending Brody’s wedding in Indonesia is because she “has work commitments that have been set up for months and couldn’t be changed in the end.” The publication further noted that the reality star will instead be throwing her son and his new wife a party when they return to Los Angeles.
Additionally, the blog is hardly a reliable source when it comes to getting accurate news about Jenner. Gossip Cop busted the site last year for wrongly reporting that she was moving to Idaho to live with her mom, and even shoot a reality TV show about their dynamic. Obviously, neither of those things ever occurred.
Shortly before that, Gossip Cop called out the website for falsely claiming that Jenner was embarking on a career as a transgender fashion model. That never happened either. It’s clear that the blog doesn’t have reliable sources or insight into the reality star’s personal life. On the other hand, Jenner’s spokesperson and several respected outlets have confirmed she has “work commitments” preventing her from attending Brody’s wedding.
