Jada Pinkett Smith and Gabrielle Union are not feuding again after reconciling earlier this year, despite a bogus tabloid report. Gossip Cop can correct this claim. It’s entirely baseless.
The two actresses discussed the longtime tension between them on an episode of Smith’s Facebook series “Red Table Talk,” which was posted online earlier this week. The women revealed that they barely spoke for 17 years, aside from the occasional awkward run-in. Neither Smith or Union could pinpoint why the feud even started, but they officially ended it on the Facebook talk show.
According to Star, however, the truce didn’t last long. “Gabby & Jada Unbury The Hatchet,” reads a headline in the latest issue of the magazine. The accompanying article quotes an alleged insider as saying, “The happy ending was over in a Hollywood minute. One of them blabbed something strictly off-limits, and now it’s chillier than Siberia again.” The outlet’s questionable source adds, “We’re rolling our eyes and praying this fight won’t fester for years, like the last one did.”
The unreliable tabloid has virtually zero details to back up its claims. The only reason provided as to why Smith and Union are supposedly feuding again is that “one of them blabbed something strictly off-limits.” There’s no explanation of what was said or who said it. The publication doesn’t provide any specifics to substantiate its story.
On the other hand, Smith promoted Union’s episode of “Red Table Talk” on Instagram when it was released on Monday. The actress wrote, “Join @gabunion and I today at the Red Table for an awesome conversation. Hope to see you there.” If the two actresses were actually feuding again, it’s unlikely that Smith would have released the episode, let alone promoted it on social media.
On Wednesday, Smith recorded a Facebook live video about “rebuilding friendships,” which was based in part on her reconciliation with Union. During the live broadcast, the actress elaborated on her “beautiful” conversation with the fellow actress and spoke more about the importance of making amends. She ended the video by saying, “I want to thank my girl Gabrielle. Wherever you are mama, thank you.”
Conclusion: Not only did Smith happily promote the release of her conversation with Union on “Red Table Talk,” she then recorded a live follow-up show to recap their reconciliation. This live show, which was on the topic of “rebuilding friendships,” was inspired by her conversation with the actress. It’s abundantly clear that Smith and Union aren’t at odds again.
