HollywoodLife is flip-flopping on whether Kendall and Kylie Jenner are invited to Brody Jenner’s wedding. After wrongly claiming earlier this week that the two stars hadn’t received an invite to their half-brother’s upcoming nuptials in Bali, the outlet is now changing course. This about-face backs up what Gossip Cop has said for years: The website’s “exclusives” are often phony and inaccurate.
On Monday, the aptly nicknamed HollywoodLies claimed in one such so-called “exclusive” that Kendall and Kylie were not invited to Brody’s wedding with fiancée Kaitlynn Carter. The blog quoted a so-called “source” as claiming Brody hadn’t “invited any of the Kardashians to his wedding, and that includes Kylie and Kendall, whom he views as more Kardashian than Jenner, despite their last name.” The site’s alleged tipster went on to purport, “He doesn’t want the most special day in his life to be turned into a big old Kardashian circus, that’s just his idea of hell.”
But after a report published by People confirmed with Brody himself that Kendall and Kylie were, in fact, invited to the wedding, HollywoodLies’, well, lies, were exposed. So, on Tuesday, the blog offered a new article with this headline: “Brody Jenner Says Sisters Kylie & Kendall Ignored His Wedding Invite — They Never RSVP’d.” Significantly, this story makes no mention whatsoever that just one day prior, the site had insisted the Jenner sisters hadn’t been invited at all and that Brody didn’t want them at his nuptials.
Notably, he actually told the reputable People that they’d “be missed” after not RSVPing. So HollywoodLies was wrong on two fronts: The outlet was wrong that Kendall and Kylie weren’t invited and also wrong that their presence wasn’t wanted by their older sibling. Of course, HollywoodLies has yet to issue an apology for its false reporting or retract what was clearly a phony “exclusive.” This flip-flop proves not only how little genuine insight the online publication has on the Kardashian-Jenner family, but also how little it cares about having the right facts.
Gossip Cop, on the other hand, is committed to truth-telling. While sites speculated earlier this week about whether Brody’s father would be in attendance on his big day, we exclusively confirmed with a spokesperson that Caitlyn Jenner was not attending the wedding due to work commitments. Should the record need to be set straight on other matters related to the nuptials and the Kardashian-Jenners, Gossip Cop will continue to have the accurate details. But fans shouldn’t expect HollywoodLies to have anything but made-up claims and information it copied from elsewhere.
