Charlize Theron can’t get a date? That’s the ridiculous claim in one of this week’s tabloids. Gossip Cop looked into the situation and we can set the record straight.

According to OK!, the actress is depressed because her love life is nonexistent and no one ever asks her out. An alleged “insider” tells the magazine, “It’s getting her down. She’s starting to ask friends to set her up. Everyone assumes men are lining up for her, but they’re often too intimated to ask her out.”

The outlet’s questionable source goes on to say that Theron “has a lot of male friends in the industry, but lately she misses the intimacy of a relationship.” The phony tipster further contends that the actress’s two kids consume the majority of her time, which has made her desperate for “the company of people her own age.” “If she doesn’t find somebody soon, she may even join a dating site,” adds the seemingly nonexistent insider.

However, every aspect of the tabloid’s article is provably untrue. Last month, Theroux told Hello! magazine she has no interest in dating for the time being. “Sometimes my friends will try to set me up and I’ll say: ‘Right now feels like more work than something I would really enjoy,’” noted the actress.

The magazine’s contention that the star may soon turn to online dating is also false. Theron said on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” show last year that Chelsea Handler tried to convince her to join a celebrity dating app, but she found it “just awkward.” The actress went on to say she’s “old school” and would prefer meeting someone in person. Gossip Cop has also reached out to a rep for Theron, but by the actress’s own admissions, there’s no truth to the outlet’s story.

Additionally, OK! is hardly a reliable source when it comes to getting accurate news about the movie star. Gossip Cop recently busted the magazine for wrongly reporting that Theron was going to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding. Obviously, the actress wasn’t in attendance at the ceremony this past weekend.

Last year, Gossip Cop called out the tabloid for falsely claiming Theron was in a feud with Fate of the Furious co-star Vin Diesel. The bogus article was based on the actress playfully mocking her co-star’s kissing skills during an interview, but the two weren’t in any real-life battle. This latest article surrounding the actress’s dating life is equally fabricated.
