This ‘Game of Thrones’ Star Just Became the World’s Strongest Man

Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, who rose to prominence playing Ser Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane on Game of Thrones, has become the World’s Strongest Man.
The 29-year-old actor was given the top honor when he nabbed fist place at the annual World’s Strongest Man competition over the weekend.
The actor competed in a variety of tests of strength over the two-day challenge, including taking second place for pulling a bus. Despite thae obvious setback, he went on to claim the title of World’s Strongest Man.
The 29-year-old took to Instagram to announce the news, thanking his fans, friends, and family for their support.

While this is the athlete’s first big win at the World’s Strongest Man competition, he has set plenty of other records. By gaining this title, he becomes the first person to have won the Arnold Strongman Classic, Europe’s Strongest Man, and World’s Strongest Man in the same calendar year, and he recently made headlines by deadlifting over 1,000 lbs.
The Iceland native will be returning to Game of Thrones in it’s final season, which will air on HBO in 2019.
