It’s Over! Katy Perry and Taylor Swift End Long-Standing Feud
May 9, 2018Well, it seems like Taylor Swift and Katy Perry are finally burying the hatchet.
After years of feuding, the famous frenemies settled the score when Katy, 33, literally extended an olive branch to Taylor, 28, by sending the pop star an apology letter.
T-Swift posted about the sweet gesture on her Instagram Story Thursday, May 7, right before kicking off her Reputation Tour. Sharing a video of an olive branch attached to a handwritten card addressed to an “old friend,” the “Look What You Made Me Do” singer captioned, “Thank you Katy.”
“So I just got to my dressing room and found this actual olive branch,” she said. “This mean so much.”
“Hey Old Friend,” the note began. “I’ve been doing some reflecting on past miscommunications and the feelings between us. I really want to clear the air…”

As fans know, the two have been embroiled in a feud for the past few years. It first surfaced when Taylor told Rolling Stone that “Bad Blood” was about a fellow artist who had basically tried to sabotage her Red Tour. Fans were quick suspect the diss track was meant for Katy, who hired three dancers that were originally slated to be on Taylor’s tour.
It’s since been rumored that Katy’s “Swish Swish” was a response to Taylor.
In a tweet last year, Katy said that she’d work with the “Delicate” singer if Taylor apologized. Katy went on to tell James Corden that Taylor started the feud and “it’s time for her to finish it.”
“But what I want to say is that I’m ready for that BS to be done. Now, there is the law of cause and effect. You do something, there’s going to be a reaction. And trust me, daddy, there’s going to be a reaction. It’s all about karma, right?” she said. “I think personally that women together, not divided, and none of this petty bulls**t, women together will heal the world.”
