‘Sons of Anarchy’ Star David Labrava Reveals His Son Committed Suicide
May 11, 2018Sons of Anarchy star David Labrava is in mourning.
The 55-year-old actor, who played Happy Lowman on the FX series, revealed on Thursday, May 10, that his teenage son had recently committed suicide. In a heartbreaking post on his Instagram, he paid tribute to Tycho Spelis Chiusano, 16, and offered a warning to others to look for signs of depression.
“Never in a million tears would I think I would be posting this,” he wrote. “This is my boy Tycho. He took his life a couple of days ago at 16 years old. He suffered from a depression we couldn’t see because he was a happy young kid.”

“Communicate with your loved ones, there might not be any signs. Cherish them. I am broken,” he continued, posting photos of himself and his son through the years. In one photo, the two can be seen hanging out on the set of Sons of Anarchy.
The Becoming A Son author also shared a link to a GoFundMe page set up in his son’s honor. “An amazing and beautiful soul, Tycho was extremely intelligent, athletic, loyal, and a sensitive friend. He was full of life, constantly smiling, and had a knack for making others laugh. Tycho loved his family and friends. This is how we will forever remember him,” the page read. “Tycho’s last wish was ‘give all of my money to a depression and bipolar organization’ …so, that’s exactly where it’s going!”
It added, “100% of your donations will join Tycho’s and go to a depression and bipolar organization.
At time of publishing, the campaign raised $14,003 out of its $20,575 goal.
