5 Must-See PyeongChang Olympic Moments

All weekend long, we’ve been glued to our television screens watching athletes from across the globe compete in the PyeongChang Olympic Games. There are still 13 days of winter sports glory left, but already we’ve seen Americans at the top of the podium and plenty of unbelievable moments. If you’re catching up, here are our top 5 fave moments from the first few days of the games.

1. Mirai Nagasu officially became the first American woman to land a triple axel in Olympic competition. Watch all three rotations here.

2. Red Gerard, a 17-year old American teen clocking in at a whopping 5’5″ and 114 pounds took the gold medal in snowboarding slopestyle. His medal-winning ride was basically sickkk.

3. Obvi we were all chanting “USA! USA!” watching the adorable Shib Sibs rock their ice dancing routines, but at the end of the day, you have to give it up for Canada. They crushed the team competition and skated their way to the top of the podium. For a clear example of their domination, watch Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir absolutely SLAY.

4. One of the many stories of the games is how Russian athletes are required to compete under a generic OAR or Olympic Athletes from Russia flag in plain uniforms and without any patriotic symbols due to doping scandals. Even without the illegal drug boosts, 18-year old figure skating virtuoso Yevgenia Medvedeva killed it and blew away the competition. Her routine was flawless.

5. And of course, we have to mention the combined women’s hockey team from Korea. Sure, they lost the game, but North & South played nice and ain’t that grand?
